Lake Louise World Cup Mens Downhill November 24, 2018

The fastest skiers in the World raced at the Lake Louise World Cup Mens downhill on Saturday, November 24, 2018. Reaching speeds of up to 135 kilometres per hour, racers fly over fly down the course cutting past race gates. The corner that I chose to photograph was the last one on the long, icy race course with a turn right after the gate. From my position I couldn’t see above that gate so the only way to tell a skier was coming was to watch the TV camera boom swing to follow the oncoming skier. Photographing the race is challenging and great fun. The weather isn’t always perfect for this race but on Saturday, it couldn’t get much better. Here are a few photos from the Lake Louise Ski Resort.
