I have produced those ‘iconic’ images in a career spanning many years. One image, of a sled dog at the Alberta International Sled Dog Classic, sprouted wings of its own and was published and recognized internationally.
The photo won several awards, including placing in the Banff Mountain Photography Competition. It was also featured in my 2006 gallery show in Japan. The people of Higashikawa – Canmore’s sister city and the Japanese Town of Photography – invited me to display 50 images representing a slice of life in the Bow Valley.
Over the years, I have been awarded 37 international, national and regional awards for my work in photography.
I discovered Canmore in 1998, where I’ve lived and worked for the past 25 years.
With two decades of experience as a seasoned staff photographer for daily and community newspapers across Western Canada, I now enjoy running my own professional wedding, portrait, convention and event photography business surrounded by the glorious Canadian Rocky Mountains in Canmore, Alberta; 20 minutes down the road from Banff, Alberta.
Rocky Mountain Books published my best-selling photography book entitled “Canmore, Kananaskis and the Canadian Rockies” in 2007. Contact me if you would like to buy a copy as they make great souvenirs, convention goodies and event prizes.
