Wedding Cake Toppers a Hoot in Banff

They put a smile on everyone’s face at a wedding and they always get the spotlight. They are the tiniest detail but the most fun to create. They are…wedding cake toppers!

Over the years that I have been a wedding photographer in Banff, Canmore, Lake Louise and Kananaskis, I have seen all sorts of amazing wedding cake toppers. They can be made in the likeness of the couple. At one wedding I photographed, the couple was really into Lego and a friend made them a little Lego bride and groom. At another, the couple had a sense of humour and the bride was holding a key while the groom was sitting with his ball and chain. Yet another couple had practised their first dance and they wanted to celebrate their accomplishment with their cake topper couple, who looked just like them, in a romantic dance dip. A woodsy couple had something to hoot about with two fabric owls perched atop their cake. A creative cake maker sculpted a couple on top of a mountain with flags from France and Switzerland to honour both the bride and groom’s homelands along with a Canadian flag. A tiny couple high fives each other on top of their wedding cake. I think they all take the cake!
